Michele Roussel Buckley

Founder

Michele Roussel Buckley is a community organizer, advocate, and connector rooted in the heart of Nashua. A multigenerational resident who believes deeply in the power of conversation, Michele has dedicated her work to strengthening civic engagement, building inclusive spaces, and reminding people that democracy begins at the community level.

As the founding voice behind Gate City Voices, Michele has helped cultivate a grassroots network focused on civic participation, education, and collective action. Under her guidance, Gate City Voices has become known for hosting thoughtful community conversations, book discussions, peaceful demonstrations, food drives, vigils, and gatherings that center hope, joy, and shared responsibility. Whether organizing a silent protest, a candlelight vigil, or a neighborhood rally, Michele emphasizes unity over division and dialogue over discord.

Her leadership style blends compassion with action. She understands that real change happens not only in city halls but also in parks, libraries, living rooms, and public squares. She is especially passionate about multigenerational engagement, ensuring that youth, families, and elders all have a voice in shaping their community.

At the center of Michele’s work is a commitment to hope. She believes civic engagement should not only inform but inspire. Through music, art, conversation, and community celebration, she continues to foster spaces where neighbors become collaborators and voices become movements.

Michele Roussel Buckley remains dedicated to building a Nashua where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to participate.

Keith Thompson

Keith Thompson grew up in Nashua and became politically active early on. In between sporadic bouts of life, he returned to politics to volunteer for the Michael Dukakis campaign in 1988, and became much more involved while living in Brookline, as Chair of the Brookline Democrats, as well as being active on several town committees. Currently working for the County, he began sign holding on his own in Nashua at the end of February 2025, eventually joined by others, including those who would go on to form Gate City Voices, all who joined together for the last year to organize protests and other events related to the resistance.

Kim Eastwood

Kim Eastwood is a native New Yorker who has called New England home since the early 1980s, settling in Nashua over 15 years ago. With a career rooted in precision and problem-solving, Kim spent many years working as a Quality Engineer before transitioning into a new chapter as a full-time artist and community activist. In recent years, Kim has dedicated time and energy to creative expression and civic engagement, using both as tools to connect with others and inspire meaningful conversation. Political involvement became a central focus during the 2016 election, when Kim joined the Bernie Sanders campaign, an experience that sparked a deeper commitment to grassroots organizing and advocacy. Grounded in a belief that everyday people can create real change, Kim brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to both art and activism. Whether through creative work or community involvement, Kim continues to contribute to the vibrant and engaged spirit of Nashua.

Volunteer Powered

At Gate City Voices, everything we do is powered by volunteers. Our work is driven by neighbors who care deeply about their community and are willing to step forward, lend a hand, and make a difference. From organizing events and rallies to setting up chairs, sharing information, and welcoming new participants, our volunteers are the heart of Gate City Voices.

Each person who shows up brings their time, energy, ideas, and passion for strengthening our community. We believe meaningful change happens when people come together, not because they have to, but because they care. Gate City Voices exists because of the generosity and dedication of volunteers who believe in the power of community, conversation, and collective action. If you’re looking for a way to get involved, meet new people, and help build a stronger Nashua, we welcome you to join us. There is always room at the table for another voice.
